The THEMIS Annual Journal 2024 presents a selection of outstanding papers
from the THEMIS Competition – the European Judicial Training Network’s
(EJTN) flagship programme bringing together young magistrates from across
Europe.
This edition marks a milestone in the Journal’s history: from an internal
record of excellence to a fully-fledged academic publication, now reaching
a broader community of legal professionals, academics, and judicial
institutions.
Each paper reflects the intellectual curiosity and analytical depth of Europe’s
future judges and prosecutors. They address contemporary legal questions
relating to criminal, administrative, and civil law, as well as judicial ethics
issues.
Rooted in the values of independence, fairness, and cooperation, the THEMIS Annual Journal bridges EU legal doctrine and judicial practice, reflecting the EJTN's mission to foster a common European judicial culture built on mutual trust.
